Pumpkin farm visits
Today Gabe went to the pumpkin farm, Caleb's country store, with his pre-k class and Max went to the same pumpkin farm with his preschool on Friday. They both had lots of fun doing the hay maze, riding the toy tractors and doing the other activities they had going on. I went with the kindergartener's to the Pride of the Wapsi pumpkin farm today and ended up getting sun burned. Who ever heard of getting sunburned in Iowa during October - unbelievable! We did have lots of fun. We are planning on taking the kids to the pumpkin farm to choose pumpkins sometime this week. Max really wants to make a jack-o-latern - we'll see.

catching up...
Hi, we haven't downloaded Max's birthday party pictures yet, but when we do I'll definitely attach some. He had a great time at Fuller Park for his birthday. The weather started out rainy and chilly, but it didn't rain at all during his party and we ended up having the park to ourselves. Thanks to all who attended!
We've gotten into the school year and while it seems a bit crazy around here everything seems to be going well. Gabe really enjoys his pre-K class. I can tell that he's learning a lot - he's like a sponge soaking up information. He's not listening real well all the time and has gotten into trouble for this, but it's something we are working on. Max loves his preschool and seems to be learning how to make new friends. He's always been my quiet child, at least in public, and I feel that preschool is a wonderful way for him to explore in a safe environment. Max has started seeing a speech pathologist through AEA; Gertie Kent will be seeing him at Colorado School which will give him continuity through grade school. She's wonderful and I hope this helps him to communicate more clearly. Let's hope he can be fixed at an earlier age than I was. Elle has fun at her music and art classes and I hope to find a gymnastic or dance class for her to join - she needs something that's energetic to get her moving. She loves nothing better than to sit in someones lap and read - yep sounds like a Dundon!
Greg is in the middle of a three week shut down so he's been working 12 hour days straight. After 11 days straight he received two days off and now he's working for 5 days and will get two more days off. We're real excited about these next two days off as they were unexpected. He's very tired, but still makes time to play with the kids and give me lots of hugs. This last weekend, his first two days off, we camped out back with the kids. Did the whole camp fire, smores, and tent thing. The kids had a ball! Around 5:30am I brought Elle inside and caught a couple of hours of sleep in the warmth of the house. The boys have been talking a lot about this so we'll probably do it again sometime.
School for me has been busy as we will be having our Fall Festival at Colorado on October 10th. This is our one money making activity this school year and the kids are selling $1 raffle tickets - let me know if you'd like some! All the funds go to the PTO and back to the kids with new computers, field trips, books, and lots of other items. The raffle tickets are pure profit as all the prizes have been donated. We have a wonderful community and have collected lots of cash prizes, savings bonds, gift certificates, a hon chair, and so much more. I am a the head of the bake sale and have been helping the fall festival committee wherever I am able. Gabe is loving being a Colorado Tiger!
That's all for now!
