Max's birthday

Tuesday, September 9th Max turned 4 years old. He had lots of fun with his favorite breakfast, new pirate ship, lunch with Daddy, Uncle Al and Gabe, afternoon of fun outside with the boys, and pizza for dinner. He finished his day with riding his new scooter, from Uncle Al, around the driveway till dark. Sunday will be his birthday party at Fuller Park.

Max's first day of school

Wednesday, September 3rd was Max's first day of preschool at Discovery Days. He had such fun and couldn't wait to go back. He will be going Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings for 2 1/4 hours.

Great weekend

I started my weekend with a massage on Friday evening. Thanks to Barbara Boland I began my weekend relaxed and rejuvenated.

Saturday I attended Renae's party and purchased bags for my mother in law, myself and Elle. Renae gave me the idea to buy Elle a matching bag to mine - I can't wait to see them made up. These are cloth purses/bags from A Bag Above. Later on, Greg and I worked on taking apart our play set. We are moving it and expanding it to make a ship shaped fort. Wish us luck! That afternoon Al, Greg, the kids and I all went up to Moline to attend the circus. We ate at TGI Fridays and got a deal on the parking. They charge you $5 to park, but give you a coupon for $5 off of your meal. It's right next to the Mark and the walk is nothing. The kids had never been to the circus so we did the whole thing: we arrived for the animal showing (you get to walk around outside and see the animals before the show), then watched the pre-show and finally the circus. We had cotton candy and Al purchased each of the kids a toy (which was their favorite part - they come with a 2 year warranty too). Max kept acting funny, but we thought he was tired from not taking a nap - boy were we wrong! At intermission he threw up so we left. We had actually seen a lot so we didn't feel like we didn't get to see the circus. We arrived home after 9 pm, took showers and crashed. Max didn't get sick the rest of the weekend and acted fine even on the way home. ?!?!

Sunday was a beautiful day so we went up to Maquoquita caves. The kids love walking the trails and exploring the caves. Max went creek stomping and was soaked from his chest down. We had a picnic lunch and headed home. After Greg's nap we worked on the play set again. For those of you that don't know how we do things, this project will probably take weeks to finish. At 5pm we went to Alison's for a pot luck with my family. Matt and Kevin tried teaching my kids to play kick ball which was a hoot! Alison, Bridget, Sami and Evelyn's girls seemed to have fun too. Jeff says Gabe will be a good soccer player and that I should sign him up to play Y soccer. Alison showed the kids how to pick tomatoes - they didn't quite get the red color idea and she ended up with a couple green tomatoes too.

A fun weekend was had by all!
